This award-winning purpose-built facility is a contemporary 2-storey tilt-up concrete building of 27,000 SF with on-grade parking and loading. The site planning provides for major tree preservation on the north-west corner of the property, with the building positioned to minimize site disturbance, while still effectively accommodating the specific operational requirements of the Parissa company. Although the building was expressly created as an owner-occupied facility, the design also had to seamlessly integrate a sub-leasable office component at the request of the client. The project incorporates enhanced sustainability features such as insulated tilt-up ‘sandwich’ panels, a cistern for re-use of manufacturing process water for washrooms, and an unconventional warehouse space, designed with ample natural light and a dedicated passive cooling system for temperature- sensitive product storage.
